These plates are very nice. I bought them for my mom for Christmas and she loves them. They are sturdy and dont get too hot when you put them in the microwave.

Just as described. Each measures 3 3/4 by 2 inches and made of strong fine china. I immediately put them through the dishwasher and they came out fine, no chips or scratches. A little brighter white than I had anticipated; they are not what I would call ivory but instead a bright, slightly antique white. Nice weight but still delicate enough for a dinner party and strong enough for every day.

I definitely use this piece as an adjunct to the great Mikasa set.It is finely made, holds a good amount, and looks good on the table.I am thinking of getting a second one soon.

Love the collection, love this specific bowl.I really like the size and I literally use it for almost every dinner as a serving bowl.Great for serving pasta, rice, salad, marinaded meat, etc.I've had it for about 2 years now, it has yet to scratch or chip - pretty durable.

I was extremely disappointed that BOTH the 45-piece sets I purchased were defective. There are black speckles, brown spots, even a green spot in the glaze. This is on nearly every single piece. I have contacted Mikasa by their 800 number and was told they were aware of the problem and would send me good sets, but so far nothing has been done. This is creamware and it should be creamy white with no dirty looking spots on it. I love the pattern, the size of the plates, everything but the quality. They really need to address this problem at the factory, and not sell seconds as top quality china!

I loved my Italian Countryside set when it arrived, the neutral color without being totally plain was exactly what I wanted, having gotten tired of blue stoneware that clashed dreadfully at the holidays. I unpacked them and washed them and got ready to put them away... and HELLO... the dinner plate won't fit in my older style 12" upper cabinet!! I was standing in the kitchen ready to cry because I thought I was going to have to send them back until my handy husband was able to rout out the back of the cabinet door enough to let them fit. The plates stick out just far enough that the door wasn't closing, so measure your cupboards before ordering. Other than that I like the set very much. A few small flaws in the glaze on the back of the dinner and salad plates but none on the upper surface. I also love having so many other pieces available in the pattern. I am also quite happy that my very hard on the dinnerware husband has not broken or chipped a single dish yet. That is testament to the dishes not to his being more careful!
