These are great knives.I have thrown out all of the other flimsy steak knives that I have used in the past.These are a great value and would recommend them to anyone who wants a good steak knife without the extra bulk of a large knife.

Chicago Cutlery 8-Piece Wine and Cheese Knife Set Review

This cheese knife set is great for the price. The knives are sharp and cut through cheese effortlessly. The wood handles have no finish, so they are a bit grainy, and light in color. However, some mineral oil treatment darkened the color and smoothed the texture.

The box and cutting board that came with the knives are a bit cheap, but for $15, who can complain?

Lenox Simply Fine Chirp 4-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1 Review

We've just purchase two 4-piece settings of Lenox Chirp as a wedding gift for an older couple.The birds make a nice reference to a couple settling down together.It is lovely and we wish we could afford more settings. We like this pattern because the individual plates and bowls can be used as accent serving pieces to dress up a plain everyday table setting and the mug is a practical shape and size. The pattern is just beautiful and the colors are very rich. The plates feel very solid when held, not as if they may break if handled roughly. There are many additional pieces, giving us more opportunity over the years to give individual serving or ornamental pieces as additional gifts. It's been a very popular pattern for Lenox, so we hope it won't be discontinued quickly. We did find that the linens that are available to go with the setting are of a fussy material, a little shiny and slick.

Over the years, I've developed a bit of carpal tunnel syndrome which flares up now & then, so I have to be careful not to overly strain my wrists when opening a tight jar or bottle lid.

This Jar Lid Wrench by Back to Basics is a life-saver!I use it for for opening vacuum-packed lids, lids that my hubby has screwed on too tightly, and even for the caps on soda pop bottles.

The two sizes on the lid wrench fit everything, and I've even used the long handle area to open the tiniest bottles, like a pill bottle.

I love this product so much that I now own TWO of them, and am going to order one for my daughter's hope chest.(Does anyone even remember what a 'hope chest' is?*smile*)
