Good Cook 9 Inch Ceramic Pie Plate, Red Review

I initially bought this item because, I wanted a "pretty" pie plate.. I also liked the ceramic look. *I'm not sure if they are the same thing, but when mine arrived, it said stoneware.. You can't tell from the picture, but the off white interior is a bit darker than that, almost a sandy beige color, the red is also darker. It is a VERY HEAVY pie plate. and much larger than i had originally expected. deep as well, so if making from scratch pies be sure to acccount for the depth and width. I had to double recipes for dough and filling to make a chess pie in this but it was SOOOO good! Cooked nicely! Cleaned up very well, too! A++++++

Rubbermaid 4-pc. Produce Saver Set Review

My wife got the set for Christmas and I mocked her. How could fruit stay fresh longer? What gimmick did she fall for. Turns out she was right fruit does stay fresh longer, which is why I bought the single 2 cup storage container.

I like to buy a fruit bowl at Costco and it is more than I can eat. So I put a little in my container each day. In the past whatever I did not eat I threw away at the end of the day. NOw with the Produce Saver if I dont finish my daily fruit I bring it home add some more and I can not tell which is the fruit that was left over and which is the fresh fruit.

I really like, the only problem is if you dump anything out make sure you dont lose the vent at the bottom (I made this mistake once)it is not very secure.

Calphalon Contemporary Stainless Special-Value 16-Inch Roaster with Nonstick Roasting Rack Review

I researched many roaster pans before I settled on this and am I glad I did. It offers a truly stovetop worthy construction, no bending or warping, a great v rack, and superb heat distribution. The handles are comfortable and the pan fits perfectly in the oven. Compared to the AllClad, it is less expensive and better performance. A well thought out pan.

Circulon Nylon Solid Spoon Review

This is a really good "solid" spoon.Its of high quality and I do no regret spending $9 on it.When I was looking for a spoon, I thought of getting a cheap one from a dollar store, and perhaps keep replacing it if it burns/cracks/breaks...But I think this spoon will last forever and it will save me many trips to the dollar store.

I thought I was quite a knife expert, having practised using a two sided stone at a cooking store where I purchased the first of my fine chefs' knives. I would use the stone every month or so and then follow with periodic fine tuning with a steel. I have been following this routine for twenty years and I thought my knives were getting the best treatment. Well, that was until I found the manual 440two stage. I believe that only a manual can sharpen and protect a knife because overheating is known to change the temper of high carbon steel. After I got married my wife had this 440 sitting in the cabinet and I gave it a try. Not having the instructions, I used the philosophy that less is more and only pulled a few strokes through the 1 side and a few through the 2.The results were amazing! This inexpensive device preserves the hollow ground and it is almost impossible to do damage to a quality knife with this sharpener. I immediately sent one to my mother and she is getting excellent results now too. Providing that the knife is quality to start with and has not been abused by cutting on hard surfaces or clanging against metal and plates in a dishwasher, you will experience a knife that is sharper than a barber's razor. Here is a case where easy and cheap beats all other options.

All-Clad Stainless 12-Quart Multi Cooker with Steamer Basket Review

Ok, this is obviously not the same as the traditional All Clad stock pots, if it was it would be more then triple the price of this one without the 2 inserts.It is part of the disk bottom collection, however it is still top quality stainless steel and very well made.I certainly would not consider it secondary.It is a little lighter in weight than the traditional All Clad but it is not a light weight pot by any means. It is great for pasta, soup, stew, steaming veggies, etc.You will love it and you can't beat the price.It is very easy to clean and the inserts can be stacked and stored inside. A+
Tip: If you should get something stuck to the stainless steel use a product called "Bar Keepers Friend" to clean it. Most supermarkets have it and Kitchen Etc. and Bed, Bath and Beyond carry it too. The container (like a Comet can) is gold with blue and white writing. All Clad recommends it for cleaning stainless steel and it works like a dream and is very inexpensive.
