The cutting wires -- and most important, the metal frames holding the wires secure -- are first rate.I've used it to slice, wedge and dice eggs all through the holiday season and it stood up beautifully.
Be sure to wipe the wires clean while any egg traces are fresh.A "helper" put the slicer away in the drawer without cleaning it, and I had to soak it in hot water for an hour. It's made with stainless steel and is dishwasher safe, so that was OK, just inconvenient. If you wipe it off immediately, there's no need for additional washing.
Great performance and low tech efficiency.
My only quibble is the wedger cuts each egg into 6 wedges, rather than the 4 or 5 I'm used to. This makes thin wedges which are OK for salads (the yolks tend to fall off, but no big whoop). However, the thin wedges are too floppy for appetizers. For New Year, I just quartered eggs with a damp boning knife (thinnest blade I own). Unsure how much of a problem this will be in the future.
