This is the best butter keeper we've ever had!It's so cute and little, and I LOVE that it holds two sticks!It keeps it incredibly fresh, having this around makes breakfast time so much more enjoyable when we have toast or pancakes or waffles, etc.

Strange as it may seem, the Butter Pot actually works!You put two sticks, (eight ounces) of softened butter in the Cup/lid and a halfinch of water in the base so that it will form a seal when you invert the lid over the base and it will keep your butter fresh and spreadable, without refrigeration, for three to four weeks.All you need to do is change the water every three or four days.
I have another version of this device, but I prefer this one, simply because it holds twice as much, eight ounces instead of four.If you're as fond of buttered toast as I am, and as aggravated by trying to soften hard butter in the microwave, you'll really appreciate the Butter Pot.
As with all Emile Henryware, this is an extremely well-maide item, that should last for years.

Emile Henry Butter Pot, Azur Review

We didn't know what a butter pot was until we ran across one at a cooking store.They do exactly what they are supposed to do -- keep butter fresh and at the perfect temperature for use.

But most of the pots we saw were ugly -- so ugly we would have been embarrassed to leave them out while cooking, let alone at the table.The Emile Henry pot was the first tasteful one we could find.

We're on our second, the first having lost an argument with a granite countertop.
