All-American 15-1/2-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner Review

When I first ordered this canner, I wasn't sure if I would be able to maintain a steady pressure with my "pulsating" flat-top stove.With the thick aluminum walls, I have no problems at all.In fact, with such thick walls, I can put the burner on "high" and it will slowly build up pressure so I don't have to stand over the stove and constantly monitor as the pressure increases.Once at pressure, it is very easy to maintain the required pressure without having to constantly vent off excess pressure.The owner's manual recommends one to four jiggles per minute.It takes longer for this canner to cool down than others due to the thick walls.I factor this in to my processing time.It will maintain it's pressure (15 psi) for almost another 10 minutes with the burner off.This canner is designed to fit 7 quart jars perfectly.If your looking for a canner, this is it!

Presto 4-Quart Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker Review

This is an excellent pressure cooker. I also have the 8-quart stainless steel model by Presto and I don't like that one as much as this one. I like the little rocker on top better because I know exactly how much pressure it has. It is super easy to carry this extremely lightweight pressure cooker to the sink, run water over it, and in 5-10 seconds the pressure is down! It is not heavy or hot. You just have to be careful when you do this. I actually prefer this method of quick cooling to the method used in the 8-quart, which is to open the little weight and let the steam shoot out the top. That method takes about a minute, plus there's steam all over the place. That seems more dangerous to me than going to the sink.

This model is a smaller version of the 6-quart, so if you think this one is too small, that one would work for a family. This size is just right for one or two people. I always make very small quantities of food in it anyway as I don't like to have a lot of leftovers.

Cleanup with this product is very fast and easy as it is so lightweight. Another nice thing is that replacement parts are very easy to obtain (rubber gasket and overpressure plug).

I highly recommend this pressure cooker and the 6-quart stainless steel model as well.

WMF Perfect Plus 3-Quart Pressure Cooker Review

I bought mine in Germany back on 2002, it its top of the line in pressure cookers. Can cook the hardest venison or lamb in just a twist.My wife loves it, easy of everything and safe to use. Its top mounted gage is the most easy to use. I recommend this cooker to everyone.

WMF Perfect Plus 4-1/2-Quart Pressure Cooker Review

This pot performs well; as good as the T-FAL model I've had for almost 20 yrs.If it lasts as long I won't feel too bad about having paid 4x as much.

The only complaint [other than cost!] is the way you have to take the handle off to clean after each use. You've got to have quite stong hands to work it.

send me the money and I'll throw it away for you.I received my Grandmother's when she passed away and have more that pleased with it.I can't add anything the other reviews other that mine is over 30 year old it is in perfect shape.I've been told that my Grandmother sent 1000's of cans through this in her day and I intend to do the same.The company's web site is very good if you need replacement parts but I doubt you'll ever need them.I had my local Ag extension agent test my gauge (the original) and it is still accurate enough for canning.This is the only part that should ever really need replacing since it does not have a seal.I am fortunate enough to have the old school Instruction and Recipes book (list price ¢60) that has canning recipes that I have not been able to find anywhere else.Buy this and pass it on to your grandchildren!!!

I am a first time user of any type of pressure cooker so was a little afraid of the old stories of pressure cookers.However, that fear is all gone.I had no trouble what so ever following the manual that came with the Presto stainless steel electric Pressure cooker.It is so easy.Just follow the directions.Have cooked several times with it already.Food was great.I have even cooked one of the recipes.The only thing I would suggest is brown your meats in an alternate pan as it does have a tendency to stick to the bottom of the cooker.Bottom line is I would recommend this product.
