Enclume MPC-05 RACK IT UP Ceiling Bar Pot Rack (pair) Review

I chose this pot rack because I liked the idea of being able to hang the bars separately.I wanted to put them into a corner, and a traditional oval or rectangular rack wouldn't fit the space as well.We installed the bars perpendicular to each other, forming an "L" in the corner space.

Installation was incredibly easy.Once we figured out exactly where we wanted to mount them (the hardest part!) it was maybe 15 minutes before I was hanging pots on the completed racks.My only minor concern about the construction is that there's an "S" piece that goes between the ceiling hook and the vertical member of the rack.The "S" has fairly wide openings, and I would feel a little more comfortable if they were more closed, such that there's no chance of knocking the piece out of one end or the other.Of course, fully weighted, this is probably fairly unlikely.

I maximized hanging space by using the included angled pot hooks to allow skillets to nest on one bar, while staggering handle length of pots on the other bar using the straight pot hooks.You get about as many pot hooks as will be able to fit on the rack, so I wouldn't worry about buying any extras, although they are available.

I like that the design is such that when you take off an item, you don't upset the balance of the remaining items.I also like that the finish (while neutral on its own) is easily paintable, according to the item descripion and the package inserts.We didn't opt to paint before installing (mostly because a) I'm super-impatient and b) it's January and too cold to spray paint outside) but will probably do so later.

Overall, I was thrilled with the ease of installation, love having pots and pans within easy reach, and am very pleased with the flexibility and value of this item.
