Excellent quality dutch oven. Love the red coloring. I found out later that they have cobalt blue too. The craftmanship is awesome. Would love to have the whole set someday.

Emeril Enameled Cast Iron 4-Quart Jambalaya Pan with Lid Review

This is a fantastic pan that I am falling madly in love with. The color is awesome- a pristine sapphire blue that looks great on the table. I used it to cook a paella and it turned out great. I found the lid useful for the paella to keep moisture it. I can't wait to try more recipes, and even use it to for baked pasta style recipes. It heats up evenly- I would say the interior of the pan is 14.5 inches, and I used it on my 8 or 9 inch stove top. All food was cooked equally with adequate stirring. Clean up was a breeze- like my other enameled cast iron pan the white enamel darkens, but I view that as a badge of honor of all the great things I have cooked. It is on the heavy side, (18 pounds) but that is why my husband is assigned cleaning duties.

I have heard cast iron should not be used at too high of a temp- I used this one slightly over medium high heat and it cooked efficiently.

Emeril has a bunch of recipes on the food network to use with this pan.

Heuck 33024 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 2.5 Quart Sauce Pan and 8 Inch Skillet Combo, Red Review

These pots are nice but they are not comparable in quality to Le Creuset. I ordered quite a few of these in different sizes from Amazon when they were on a Friday special.Some of the pots are better than others.On some the enamel doesn't seem to be as thick, there are places where you can see the cast iron just under the surface. I am assuming that this may wear through sooner. Others appear to have a much better enamel coating. The lids on the Heuck pieces don't fit on the pots quite as nicely as the lids do on Le Creuset pots. They are also heavier than Le Creuset is for the same sized pot. You will likely need a ladle in order to remove the contents if you use this sauce pan. I waitressed for years carrying heavy trays and I can just barely manage to hold this 2.5 quart pot up and scrape the contents out with a spatula. Overall they are definitely worth the price, but if you can find second hand Le Creuset that has the interior enamel relatively intact it would probably be a better deal, as it appears that they will last longer than these Heuck pots will.
