Martha Stewart Collection Multi-Color Prep Bowls, Set of 6 Review

I have two sets of these and have rapidly found them indispensable in my kitchen.I keep two by the stove for salt and ground pepper, one for my rings for baking and the rest for prepping.They are a handy size and quite sturdy.They wash easily and look great.I hesitated to buy them because they are not from Amazon.com and I was reluctant to pay for shipping.I am glad that I did.

Martha Stewart Collection 6-Piece Multi-Color Melamine Bowl Set Review

When I ordered these bowls they were 19.99 I see they have gone up as of 10/7/08 , even so they are a good investment. The bowls are a good weight ( not your Nana's mixing bowl set ) , the colors are really pretty . They say they are dishwasher safe but I wouldn't , I don't want to damage them. They are also not microwave safe.

I would also not use them for storage they have Melmac in them which is the same toxin causing the babies in China to be come ill , I would over time wonder about long term food storage and leeching of the toxin. That said for mixing they should be fine , its not like your eating the toxin , all plastics etc have toxins in them you just don't eat them.

The only thing I dislike is how much each bowl can hold is not marked on the bowl , it is however on the box. My husband cut it out and we scanned it into the computer for safe keeping.

All in all I think this was a worthy purchase.

Revere 3-Piece Mixing Bowl Set Review

I ordered this set & when it arrived the plastic lids were cracked. I returned it for another set & those lids were cracked also. I have a nice set of Revere bowls bought from a Revere store. These are not the same quality.

Pyrex doesn't need a review--it's great stuff.Non-pourous so it doesn't soak up tastes and smells that can never be washed out.Tough and beautiful, Pyrex does it all.

So the bowls are a no brainer, but why buy these instead of others.The tops of course are the difference.I've found that most Pyrex bowls with tops I had looked at didn't fit on their bowls very well or were made out of materials which didn't seem like they would outlast me--as they should.These tops are durable, make a good seal that wont pop off or leak.And they're labeled with the various volumes of the bowls.

The size range of the set is also very good--from one the size of a cereal bowl to one large enough for a pot-luck salad without being so big that it wouldn't fit in a kitchen cabinet--and they all fit inside each other without the smaller ones rising above the rims of the larger ones.

You can put all the bowls inside each other then close them all up with the largest top--with enough room to put paper towels between each bowl and the next for safety.

All-Clad Stainless Mixing Bowl Set Review

I received these bowls as a wedding present and I LOVE them!Even though they do nest nicely for storage, I put up wall pegs for one-handed access while I am cooking.I can't seem to make anything without using at least two of them. They hold a chill nicely for working with pastry and pie dough Perfect for beating egg whites.They havn't dented, even when I have knocked them off the pegs onto the counter and I use a variety of hand mixers in them.I wash them in the dishwasher, but find that I will hand wash before mixing in another bowl. Why not 5 stars?They could use something- either a non-skid bottom or a rubber ring- to allow for counter mixing.Sometimes I would like the option for one hand mixing without having to pile up my dish towels. Price is daunting.Went to get a set for a friend, but almost fell over when I saw the price.This is a definite wish list item!However, if the company really stands behind the lifetime replacement gaurantee, they might be worth the dough.

Pyrex Smart Essentials 6-pc. Mixing Bowl Set - Multicolor Lids Review

These bowls are great.I almost got the set with 4 bowls, but I'm glad I didn't as I think the smallest bowl would have potentially been too small.These bowls are very nicely sized.

I like that it is very easy to store these.Simply put the lids on each bowl and next them inside each other.Do make sure they are dry though if you do this as the lids seal extremely well.I've had covered mixing bowls before and they've always sealed like crap.I'm very pleased with how these seal.

These are of course easy to clean.They are easy to use a hand mixer in.They have a variety of very useful sizes for your needs.

I'm very pleased with these items.I don't think I'd recommend putting the lids in the dishwasher in the long term though as I think it could screw up how well the lids seal.The bowls themselves could easily go into the dishwasher though.
