Aroma ARC-998 16-Cup Cool Touch Digital Rice Cooker, Stainless Review

I purchased my Aroma rice cooker at Target as I love rice.I originally bid on a much more expensive one on ebay but was outbid even at $120.Anyhow, I was at Target, saw this one and thought...what the heck.I followed directions to make 4 cups of brown rice.I hit the brown rice button and that was it.One hour and 45 minutes later I ate what I consider to be the best brown rice I have ever had.It didn't stick together as you get at fine restaurants, and it was fluffy.I loved it!The best feature (I think) about this machine is that when your rice is cooked, it automatically switches over to keep warm setting.Therefore, you can never overcook it. If you undercook it it's only because you didn't allow it to cook for the time the instructions tell you to.I am now so glad that I purchased this one.I paid $35 for it versus the $120 I would have paid for the Zojirushi 3 cup rice cooker.

Aroma 10-Cup Programmable Rice Cooker - ARC830TC Review

I had a Zojirushi NHS-10 and worked fine. I gave it to my sister-in-law...grin.

Latter I decided I wanted another cooker and just came upon this. It seemed to cheap. I ordered it from Amazon. This thing is a DEAL. We usually cook between 4-6 cups of rice at a time.It makes perfect rice, if you use the cup at 180cc..

We have 5 kids and been using this 2-4 times a month for last two years.

I like it most of all as it has limited options and cooks only rice.

Tiger America 5.5 c. Electr Rice Cooker/Warm ( JAZ-A10U ) Review

I really like brown rice so it was important for me to do ANYTHING to get a cooker to work, especially one that was smaller.

I started out with white basmati because I wanted to "give the cooker a chance" assuming it would find it easier to cook white rice. I got rice mush instead.

I tried long grain brown rice which I had soaked all day. I got brown rice mush.

I called Tiger and was told that white Basmati requires less water than other rices, and that this cooker would not cook brown rice. Well I haven't tried white basmati again yet, but I have cooked short grain brown rice several times and really like it. The trick is to soak the rice for 2 to 4 hours in advance of cooking. I like my rice a little chewy so I soak for 2 to 3 hours. Long grain brown rice is best soaked for 4 hours ahead of time.

WITH ALL RICE, MAKE SURE TO RINSE IT THOROUGHLY BEFORE COOKING.

I also like that I can make 3 cups instead of 6. Left over rice is great for breakfast with some butter, sugar and dried cherries, but you should eat the rice within a week. It will taste funny after a week in the refrigerator.

Microwave Ramen Cooker Review

YES!

At last!A way to cook ramen in the microwave so that it comes out tasting like you cooked it on the stovetop!

The cooker is large enough to hold 2 packs of ramen at once and is suitable for cooking additional ingredients like eggs freshly cracked right on top of the ramen brick.

After 7 minutes in the microwave, it's hot and steamy enough to stir a raw egg in and have egg drop ramen.

I use chives myself.^^

Clean up is easy and the ramen flavoring doesn't stain.

My favorite feature is only present in the other model available from eKitron though.It would have to be the fact it has a miso spork that's perfect for eating ramen and it fits conveniently right inside the lid.^^

I haven't tried this particular model, but it's made by the same company and is more than likely of the same high quality.You can compare and contrast at eKitron.com.

Highly, Highly recommended for any ramen fan!

Progressive International Microwaveable Rice Cooker Set Review

I bought this for one reason; so my buddy in the Army who is flying around in the desert can make himself and his crew a meal without them having to walk the damned mile from their quarters to the chow hall.

I researched microwavable rice cookers and this one fit the bill because of 1)price, 2)size (can fit in a very small microwave), and 3) capacity. It also provided good value because of the measuring cup and spoon provided.

I shipped this to Iraq (via USPS APO) along with some bags of Jasmine Rice, Pouches of Chicken breast meat, Cans of Coconut Milk and baby corn, an envelope of "Taste of Thai" peanut sauce mix, and my recipe for "Chicken and Baby Corn in peanut sauce over jasmine rice" (which as you might imagine involved mixing and heating everything but the rice, then dumping it over the rice.)

IT WAS A HUGE HIT, and it's not like these knuckleheads (I say that with all due fondness and respect) can cook. So bottom line, this thing would be perfect for a Soldier in the field or a college student in a dorm room.

After trying & returning several microwave rice cookers I decided to give this one a try because of the great price and Nordic Ware's reputation.You MUST follow Nordic Wares instructions for cooking rice.Using any other recipes/directions, will result in your rice being soggy & the water not absorbing.The one noticible difference between the other cookers I tried and this one is that I didn't have to clean my microwave after using this rice cooker.NO SPILLS & OVERFLOWS!I just ordered a second cooker to place in storage just in case this model is discontinued.GREAT PRODUCT AT A GREAT PRICE!

Progressive International Microwaveable Rice/Pasta Cooker Set Review

I bought this product almost a yr ago. Its great for cooking in the dorms where your only appliance is a microwave. I couldnt eat the dorm food and this allowed me to cook pasta in my room. I wish i hadnt lost my package insert, that told me the cooking times for everything, so if anyone else goes out and buys this, do us all a favor and post it, eh?I liked that it gave cooking times for steaming veggies, pasta and rice; I LOVED how easy it was to clean. This is a MUST for any one going away to school, and makes a GREAT graduation gift.
