Zojirushi Supreme 3-Liter Airpot, Brushed Stainless Steel Review

Wow.I have to say that just three days in to owning this Airpot it has managed to impress me.

Yesterday morning I made a couple pots of coffee and filled the Airpot.Partially because I like coffee and wanted some to drink, but I also wanted to see how long it could keep it hot and drinkable over the number of hours I'd spend at work.

I woke up this morning and realized that I had gone to bed last night without cleaning it out, so I went to do so.

To my complete (and happy) surprise even after frequent draws yesterday, and then sitting on the counter in the kitchen over night the coffee in there was still hot enough for me to notice it wasn't cold.So I drew off a cup to check.

24 hours after filling and the coffee was still 125 degrees (F).

Tiger America 5.5 c. Electr Rice Cooker/Warm ( JAZ-A10U ) Review

I really like brown rice so it was important for me to do ANYTHING to get a cooker to work, especially one that was smaller.

I started out with white basmati because I wanted to "give the cooker a chance" assuming it would find it easier to cook white rice. I got rice mush instead.

I tried long grain brown rice which I had soaked all day. I got brown rice mush.

I called Tiger and was told that white Basmati requires less water than other rices, and that this cooker would not cook brown rice. Well I haven't tried white basmati again yet, but I have cooked short grain brown rice several times and really like it. The trick is to soak the rice for 2 to 4 hours in advance of cooking. I like my rice a little chewy so I soak for 2 to 3 hours. Long grain brown rice is best soaked for 4 hours ahead of time.

WITH ALL RICE, MAKE SURE TO RINSE IT THOROUGHLY BEFORE COOKING.

I also like that I can make 3 cups instead of 6. Left over rice is great for breakfast with some butter, sugar and dried cherries, but you should eat the rice within a week. It will taste funny after a week in the refrigerator.

Stainless Steel Brushed Airpot 2.2 Ltr (15-0200) Category: Airpots Review

Dear Durbin (above) thinks he over paid for his Zojirushi, but I have a Zojirushi and I have an airpot from the discount store (I'm sure it's the one Durbin is referring to (about $29.).The Zojirushi outlasts the one from the discount store by many hours. I know I've tested them fairly! The day after I've made tea in both, the tea in the discount store pot is tepid while the tea in the Zojirushi is still piping hot.
Also, the glass in the one from the discount store just burst (a very dramatic explosion) and I'm almost glad because now I can go out and buy another of the best... the Zojirushi.And if you're thinking i am from the company, I am not. I have nothing to do with them, they just make a much better product. Something becoming all to rare in our new world...Bravo Z.
