Oneida Large Non-stick Roasting Pan with Rack Review

This is a rather large pan with removable nonstick rack that will hold all but the biggest birds. The interior nonstick surface cleans easily, but getting it in your sink (or dishwasher) can be a challenge. The plain aluminum exterior scratches if you so much as look at it, and mine came apparently pre-loved with a hard surface. In practice however one pan works as well as another. The rack holds food securely, doesn't stick to the food, fits well, and the entire contraption will fit into even smallish ovens if need be. The handles are secure and the pan cools quickly (thanks to its aluminum construction). Overall not bad, just $10 more than it should be.

Circulon 16-Inch Rectangular Nonstick Roaster Review

I bought this recently because of its special price on Amazon.com and its high rating. I purchased it without my wife's knowledge because I had to make a quick decision, so it was a bit dicy about whether or not she would approve.

Well, we used it today (Thanksgiving, 2007) for the very first time. Wow, was it great! It is very sturdy and just the right size to put into a very hot oven without much danger of touching the hot sides of the oven when putting the roaster into or taking it out of the oven. That's because the handles face up on the sides, rather than out, like our previous roaster handles did.

Also, the rack works very well for keeping the turkey off the bottom of the roaster, allowing air flow all the way around the bird. By the way - we roasted a 25.6 lb. turkey, and this roaster had no problem handling it!

The roaster is deep enough to handle any amount of basting/drippings from the meat. Additionally, when we finished with all of the meat and bones, we very easily poured the rest of the grease into a small mouthed jar, without mess. That means that while pouring, the grease did not run down and back on the sides of the roaster, as often happens when pouring liquids out of regular pots and pans.

All in all a very well made non-stick roaster, that is convenient to use, easy to clean and does everything you want a roaster to do (in my humble opinion). I give it 5 stars without reservation or hesitation.

Proctor-Silex 32190 18-Quart Roaster Oven Review

Had an emergency this year - my oven broke before Thanksgiving. As we usually host this meal, I was concerned that this year we might have to eat out or go to someone elses' house for the holiday.
I noticed this roaster on sale, bought it, and used the roaster to cook this years turkey. Some observations:
(1) The process is a little different - but the turkey was moist - resulted in favorable comments from all, (2) the roaster cooked the turkey faster than a traditional big oven, and (3) it is probably more energy efficient than a traditional oven.
Have not tried it for baking yet, but it is supposed to be okay for that also.
And in the future when more than one oven is needed - it will be my second oven.

KitchenAid Flat Floating Rack Roaster with Lifters Review

There are few good roasting pans to be had in this price range.

I've used this pan but five times so far for chicken and for roasted potatoes. Unlike most others, when the rack is inserted it is suspended above the pan bottom so as to not scratch the coating. The coatings on pan & rack are very effective as both clean up easily after use.

The main question yet to be answered is whether the coating integrity will pass the Pan Gravy Test.

Nordic Ware Platinum Collection Pumpkin Patch Pan Review

What is the primary difference between this pan and a basic mini-bundt pan? The picture doesn't do the pan justice. Some of the pumpkins are a little narrower and taller and some are a bit squatty. There are leaves and tendrils embossed on the pumpkins -- all differences from the standard mini-bundt pan.

You get what you pay for, and the quality of this pans is worth the money, and properly cared for, it will last a lifetime. For perfect unmolding every time -- although the pan is non-stick, it needs to be properly prepared -- and that is most easily accomplished by using either Wilton's cake release or a cooking spray designed for baking (one that contains flour.)

To ensure a perfect unmolding, let the cake cool upright for ten minutes after removing it from the oven before inverting it. Too soon and the cakes will be fragile and may fall apart, longer than 10 minutes and the cakes begin to adhere to the pan and may stick. And, as with all non-stick surface pans, never use metal utensils or harsh scouring pads on the pan.

Dense batters work best because coarse batters (lots of air and little fat) have lots of bubbles which reduce the amount of detail reflected in the finished cake. There are many recipes for pound cakes and bundt cakes that will work perfectly with this pan, along with the recipe included with the pan from Nordic Ware. Give the pan a good rap on the counter before putting it in the oven to release any trapped air bubbles. The cakes produced are intricate and highly detailed. It looks like much effort was expended. These pumpkin cakes will add a lovely touch to a Thanksgiving buffet or a Halloween themed party.

Mauviel M'Cook 5 Ply Roasting Pans Review

It's a well worth, lifetime investment you pass on to the next generation! Never need another roasting pan if you treat her like your girlfriend (follow instructions!). Fits over 2 burners when doing stove top stuffwith even heat and, in size and performance, a no brainer in the oven. Love the big handles. It's rather heavy, although, I am a small person - so that's personally - the quality and benefits are worth the extra lift. A solid piece of hardware!

Nordic Ware 58148 3D Great Pumpkin Pan Review

Williams sonoma was first to commission this pan's creation from nordic ware and that's when I got mine. It was also featured on the cover of Country Living magazine 2 years ago and the country went gaga over it! It's an absolutely fabulous pan. I used mine for Thanksgiving and golly, what a centerpiece! Even made rolled fondant for the leaves and stem. However, chocolate fudge works well too for the stem, vanilla tinted green for the leaves. This was very easy to make, it stays together very nicely, and is quite the awe-inspiring dish to take to your Thanksgiving gathering. Before I got it, I thought it would be hard to get it out of the pan in one piece, but it was (okay I HAVE to say this!) a PIECE OF CAKE! If you're into making a jack-o-lantern, you can cut orange jelly candy in the shape of a mouth, eyes, nose, etc.There's also a recipe sheet that comes with the pan.The Williams Sonoma version is glazed a little more prettier and I think it makes the cake pop out easier. I'm thrilled to have it and just bought the loaf pan to go with it! Plus, Nordicware is made here in the USA. Great stuff, highly, highly recommend!
