Nordic Ware Platinum Collection Train Pan Review

I used this pan to make a cake for my grandson's birthday party. I did two practice runs on using the pan. A regular cake mix will work as well as the recipe that is printed on the underside of the label. I followed the instructions to fill the pan only 3/4 full but with a cake mix, I found this to be too much. Each section has a horizontal line as part of the design for each train car. Fill only to the top of this line so the cakes will be the right height. It is important to follow the instruction to hit the pan firmly on your countertop before placing the batter in the oven - this will eliminate any air bubbles trapped in the cake.When the cake sections are baked, wait 10-15 minutes then turn them out GENTLY onto a wire frame. DO NOT TAP THE BOTTOM OF THE SECTIONS before turning the cakes out since they will come out with some of the design missing.
However, this cake pan works beautifully. I found that a soft paint brush worked very well with hot soapy water when washing the sections out.

Please let it be known that the cake pictured here is not one baked from the Nordicware pan that this Amazon listing is for.Rather, it appears to be one baked from the highly-sought, out-of-production bee hive cake pan by Martha Stewart.The M. Nordic Ware Pineapple Upside Down Cake Pan Review

As some of the reviews below reveal, this cake pan was manufactured to be used for the traditional pineapple upside down cake.it performs as intended when you use a standard store-bought mix or common recipe for upisde down cake.If you get all experimntal and use heavier flours with far more protein content, you cake is gonna stick.if you must use a custom low-carb recipe, you are better off making your cake in a rectangle pan.

Nordicware usually includes a basic recipe with all their pans and mine came with it.it is sometimes on the reverse of the label so don't toss the label without looking.If you need a basic recipe, there is a very good one in the betty Crocker cookbook.

Another way to avoid sticking is to grease your Nordicware pan with crisco and then spray with baker's joy.Your cake should release easily then.

Remember, these pans were not designed for high protein cakes.use your rectangle pans for those.I am always amazed at how people blame a manufacturer for not anticipating their non-standard use of their products.The pan works fine.

Nordic Ware Platinum Collection Cast-Aluminum Nonstick Tea-Cake and Candy Mold Review

I like the idea of this bundt pan.I made 3 batches of chocolate truffles on it. The recipe that comes with the pan is awesome.HOWEVER, I have yet to figure out how to get the chocolates out easily. The first time, I used a non-stick spray (not vegetable oil).I thought that might be my problem because the company recommends vegetable oil. On the next two batches, I poured vegetable oil in the little holes and spread it around using a pastry brush. Again, I had to fight to get the chocolates out. I kid you not -- my husband pounded on the pan with a big rubber mallet to get the chocolates to come out!I must be doing something wrong. I will call customer service tomorrow -- but if there is a trick to this, they should have told you on the instructions on how to make the truffles!Other than that, the chocolates turned out beautifully and I will use this pan again, even if I have to call my husband to help me out with his rubber mallet!

Nordic Ware Pro Cast Bundt Brownie Pan Review

All of the Platinum Collection pans come with a limited lifetime warranty but these pans are so durable that I doubt you will ever use it.I had this same pan that I bought from W@lm@rt for much less and I was disappointed with it from the start.It always stuck and seemed to bake uneven.So I went online, did some research and found out that Nordicware makes the same pans in different qualities.I had bought a cheap one.I ordered a Platinum from Amazon and I've not regretted it once.I have used this pan for muffins at least 50 times and I've never lost a batch to uneven baking or sticking.I have since ordered them as gifts.

Nordic Ware Holiday Mini Muffin Pan Review

I bought this pan for my holiday baking. While the cups were a bit smaller than I expected, once I got the feel for how much cake batter to put in them, I was thrilled. My cakes came out of them easily, and everyone had their own favorite shape; it's a little hard to tell from the pictures, but the shapes are a wreath, a star, a poinsettia, and a ring of trees.
