The rack rail itself is great sturdy and does the job, but the additional shelf is loose and doesn't screw into the brackets - maybe it was just the unti we got... but there were no screws nor screw holes on the shelf itself and the brackets... so we just used adhesiveto secure the shelf. It was a minor thing for us that didn't warrant the hassle of returning/exchanging it - because we didn't really want to put anything on the shelf, since it was too small anyways.
