I purchased a set of this cookware back in 1986 while I was working retail in a housewares department, putting myself through college.I thought I was pretty brand savvy at the time and took the plunge with Chantal.Sure they were a little pricey at the time for a student, but I tell you after 24 years of hard wear and tear, these pans are a CHAMP!It was worth each and every penny I spent!They cook evenly and clean up amazingly well, even when I still manage to burn the rice to the bottom,A little hot water soak while I load the washer with the rest of the dishes and after all these years, the mess still wipes right out.The glass lids are wonderful and as big of a clutz as I am, I'm happy to report that every single lid remains unbroken to this day.My husband just talked me into my first induction stove top and lucky for me, they are indeed magnetic and work beautifully. Stove top to oven, these pans do it all - FOREVER!I have used the heck out of these pans every day and honestly, you couldn't pay me to switch to another brand.I admit there was a time before I bought Chantal that I longed for Le Creuset cast iron pans, but the weight would have probably broken me over time.And I'm not sure they would have worked with the induction stove anyway.
