Product came new as ordered.Nice compliment to my other Ginsu set that I bought in a store.The knives of the set work great and have a nice weight to them. I only gave a 4 because I have not compared them to very expensive knives which I probably would never buy anyway.The Ginsu knife set and carving set are beautiful stainless steel. Do they rust? I don't know I don't put them in my diswasher I hand wash them.The dishwasher recks havoc on all dishes in my opinion and I only use it for glassware, plates, and common utensils not my good stuff or things I want to protect for a long time. I recommend this set and the knife set if you come across them.
