Kitchen Aid Cookware: Range Kleen 1 Quart Covered Sauce Pan Review

I got used to having a one quart covered saucepan, and no longer had access to one, so I found this one.The one I was using before the divorce was a Revereware, with aluminum bottom, which served nicely, with the exception of that the aluminum plate on the bottom of Revereware is not covering the part where the pan curves so the inside edges of the pans are more likely to burn something.But the price was a good bit more for that one.

And, I like the look of this one.I like the handles, makes it look really cute.I would have rated this less if it cost more than $15, due to a couple things.The long handle is a detriment on a tiny saucepan, as it is like a lever and if you accidentally hit it, you are more likely to turn it over, so you have to be more careful than with a shorter handled pot.

And after receiving it, there is information in the box which says if you ever boil the pot dry, you have to throw it away, as the aluminum plate on the bottom might fall off.This makes me think it is an adhesive used to attach the bottom.

Also the handle is attached with bolts that go through the pan, although this is common on some cookware, it is more difficult to clean.

So although I gave it three stars, it is likely what I should have expected for $15.If I had given it more thought, I would have done a little more shopping for just the right little pan as it is very handy for making grits, cous cous, oatmeal and the occasional sauce, especially if you are cooking for one.
