Kitchen Aid Cookware: Calphalon Oval Pot Rack 18x36-in. Review

I love my Calphalon pot rack.It is attractive, yet utilitarian, made of stainless steel.This rack comes with four chains and connectors for attaching the chains to the rack.It does NOT come with mounting hardware.We needed to make an addtional trip to the hardware store for bolts.We installed this rack by nailing 2x4s between the joists in the attic above the kitchen and then drilling through the kitchen ceiling into the 2x4s.We put 8-inch bolts with hooks on the end that we got from a local hardware store through the hole in the ceiling, through the 2x4 and bolted into place.This would be difficult to install properly without a drill.Having the rack suspended from chains allows some versatility as it can easily be raised and lowered by changing which link is hooked to the ceiling.

The pot rack comes with several hooks, some singles and some doubles.We hang all sorts of pots from our rack.The who unit is quite heavy with pots included so make sure you do aa proper installation.This rack connot be suspended from sheetrock on the ceiling, even using anchor bolts or screws, it needs to be attached to the joists.

The only thing I don't like about this rack is that the pots on their hooks don't slide around too easily, so if you are reaching for a pot, you can't easily pull it closer to you to get it down.I would give it 5 stars if it had better installation instructions and included installation hardware.
